The Parish Council has been given an update on the broadband improvements that are currently going on in the village. The message that CityFibre have sent is below.
Many residents may not be aware, but we are part of a wider oil purchasing scheme, where many people ordering near the same time can receive a better price. You order individually, without needing to arrange anything with others.

Your Alpington and Yelverton Community Shop will be opened by David Whiteley and Amelia Reynolds, on Sunday 30th Nov, as part of the Christmas Fair at the Wheel of Fortune Pub!
On the 30th Nov, the shop will be open 12 noon to 4pm, to match the Christmas fair. Then it will be open from 8.30- 11.30, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, until Christmas. After that the times will be on the shop door, and we’ll publish them here.

Come along to Carols by Candlelight with the Poringland Singers, Saturday 13th December 7pm, St Mary’s Church Yelverton. A selection of carols Christmas songs and readings, with tickets including seasonal refreshments!

Norfolk county council has sent their regular report to our Parish Council, and they’ve passed it over to be published here on the website. It’s worth a scan to see all the stuff that’s been going on.

Dove lane will be closed on 20th November for road works, which is the lane that comes out at the dove pub, onto the main Poringland Brooke road.
From the official notice: …affecting the C374 Dove Lane from its junction with B1332 Norwich Road for 275 metres north-eastwards (the “Road”) in the Parish of Poringland to facilitate carriageway repair works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be on 20th November 2025…
