Road Closure – Alpington – Church Road – 16th Feb 2026

Church Road in Alpington will be closed from 16th Feb, for urgent cable repair works. It’s the stretch from the school crossroads halfway to the church.

From the official notice: …

the C374 Church Road from its junction with U76372 Wheel Road for 136 metres northwards (the “Road”) in the Parish of Alpington will be temporarily prohibited/restricted.

Alternative route is via: Bergh Apton Road, Mill Road, A146 Loddon Road, Slade Lane, Church Road (Bergh Apton, Yelverton, Holverston, Alpington).

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: CityFibre Holdings Limited.

The closure/restriction is necessary or expedient because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The closure/restriction is anticipated to take place on 16th February 2026 but the Road may continue to be closed/restricted until the 20th February 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

We are writing to you with an update for East Pye Solar.

We would like to thank everyone who has engaged with the Scheme and provided feedback during our Phase Two Consultation which took place between June and August 2025, and our Targeted consultation which took place between October and November 2025. The views and comments we have received from stakeholders has helped to improve our understanding of the local area and the aspects of East Pye Solar that you consider important for us to prioritise as we further develop our proposals.

Scheme Update Newsletter

The Scheme Update Newsletter provides an overview of the comments submitted to us during the Phase Two and Targeted Consultations, and how we are using this feedback to continue to shape a strong set of proposals that are sensitive to the concerns of local communities and key stakeholders, ahead of our submission of our Development Consent Order (DCO) Application to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS).

Please find the newsletter linked here. It can also be accessed via the Documents page on the Scheme website.

Next steps

We plan to submit our application in February 2026. PINS then has 28 days to decide whether to accept it to proceed to the Examination stage.
