News and Events
Norfolk County Council’s annual recycling centre survey is an opportunity for householders to provide feedback on Norfolk Recycling Centres. It gives an ongoing picture of what’s working well, what could be improved and how residents are using the household waste recycling centres.
To help the centres continue providing an efficient and value-for-money service in the coming years, they want to find out your views about the recycling centres you use. Even if you don’t use them, they want to hear from you so that they can understand why.
It takes just five minutes to complete the survey. The survey runs from 20 August to 17 September. If you can, please share it with friends and family too.
Further to previous notices, please note we have been advised that the closure/restriction of Church Road Yelverton had gone beyond the anticipated dates and is now anticipated to be in place until 3rd September 2025. To facilitate the new fibre network installation works.

Don’t forget the Friends of St. Mary’s Coffee Morning on Saturday 16th at the Wheel of Fortune, from 10.30 to 12 noon. To celebrate our 15th anniversary there will be Mini Spangles Steel Band, and children’s activities. There will also be a very good selection of toys and games, and jigsaws, as well as our usual stalls.
On the first weekend of August there was a fly-tipping incident at the Village Hall. Any fly-tipping is illegal and unnecessary as there are many other ways to dispose of household waste responsibly. The Village Hall is a charity run by volunteers and clearing up waste that has been fly-tipped could incur costs that would otherwise be used for maintenance of the Village Hall so that it can continue to be used for the benefit of community groups.
It is easy to book a slot at the Bergh Apton Recycling Centre to dispose of excess packaging, old appliances, garden waste or other items. Just visit the Norfolk County Council website waste recycling and you will be directed to the appropriate page where it just takes a few minutes to book a slot.
Norfolk County Council also has special hazardous waste amnesty days where you can take things like old paint cans that aren’t empty, garden chemicals, wood treatments etc.

The next hazardous waste disposal days at the Norwich South Waste Recycling Centre (situated at the Harford Park and Ride) are on the 3rd and 4th October and slots can be booked up to 8 days in advance.
If you see fly-tipping incidents in public places you can report this via the South Norfolk website.
