The Parish Council intends to keep a section on the community website for Covid 19 to enable a sharing of information.
It will be updated regularly but as this is a very fast moving situation we recommend that you log on to www.nhs/uk and www.gov/uk which will have the most up to date information.
The Community Emergency Plan has been activated with the aim of helping, protecting and supporting all our residents within Alpington & Yelverton.
There are a group residents who have volunteered to help and currently you should be receiving an introduction card. This includes the name and contact details of your volunteer. It also includes suggestions of what support you might need but this is not exclusive , if you need different support suggested on the card, please contact your volunteer.
We are aware that many of you have been offered support from a neighbour or are offering support. We do not want this to stop but want you to know that there is a scheme available if at a later date you need support.
As mentioned this is fast changing situation, so the plan will be reviewed and adapted as led by situation and advice from the government.
One thing we aim to do is let you know of any services or support being locally but we would recommend confirmation with the service provider about what is being offered.
Currently
The Dove Restaurant – Take Away meals
Royal Oak – Take Away meals
Railway Tavern – Take Away meals
Aldis Farm Shop – delivery service and Take Away meals
Green Pastures – delivery services for minimum order of £10 – delivery charge £3
We will also use this format to help solve problems
for example – residents who normally have a garden service to include grass cutting, if this ceases has anyone machinery/ time to help?
For medicine collection – to limit both volunteers and health workers we would plan to do a twice weekly collection (dependent on need).
We hope you will feel this is helpful and we welcome any suggestions or information about services you are aware of that will make all our lives safer and reduce isolation. If you feel you can offer some time and would like to volunteer please ring Louise or Sue.
