Route – Circular Route A
Images Under Construction…
1. Start at the front of the village hall, go through the car park round to the back, and continue walking alongside the play area and then across the small elongated meadow away from the village hall.

2. In the far back left corner of the field, pick up the track leading through the opening in the hedge.

3. This path continues in the same direction until it reaches the road. Turn left here, and then immediately right, down a track marked “Avenue Farm” following the public footpath sign.
[start of farm road]
4. Go straight through the crossroads at the farm buildings and keep to the left-hand edge of the field afterwards.
[farm crossroads]
5. At the end of the field, you see the option to go left along the edge of the field in front of you, but instead turn right continuing round the edge of the current field. Before you reach the end of the field, the path will lead you through a gap in the hedgerow.

6. The path takes you alongside trees and hedges on both sides, and comes out at a metal gate onto Mill Road.

7. Turn right onto the road, which is the Alpington-Bergh Apton boundary. Go over the crossroads, onto Church Meadow Lane.

8. Continue on the road, do not take the left turn onto Upper Kiln Lane.

9. Turn right at the public footpath sign into a gravelled drive. It’s possible to miss this turning, and if you reach the right turn onto Nichols Road then you have gone too far.
[right turn into property]
10. Keep to the right-hand side, respecting the property on your left. And follow the path into a field.
[opening onto the footpath from property]
11. The path opens out onto the corner of a broadly square field, look diagonally across it to the left and that’s where you’re headed. Follow the right hand side, turn left at the far corner, and at the end of that path you reach the road.
[the end of the path onto the road]
12. Turn right onto the road. When you reach the crossroads turn left round the front of the school.
[crossroads]
13. About 160 yards from the crossroads, turn right down a narrow paved footpath between the houses.
[path entrance]
14. Continue straight to the end of the path, coming out onto St Mary’s Close. And at the end of that road turn left onto Church Meadow. On the opposite side between number 16 and 18 go down the passageway.
[the passageway entrance]
15. At the end of the passageway turn right onto The Loke, viewing the churchyard on the left, and at the road turn right back to the Village Hall.
