From Monday 28th July for approximately 3 weeks, the play area and equipment will be closed whilst work is carried out to renew the perimeter fencing and re-configure and improve the pre-school (Cottontails) area.

The Parish Council understands that the play area is an important resource for our community and that they have to invest in the facilities to ensure they meet the required standards. They are starting with the pre-school area so that Cottontails can continue uninterrupted when they return after the summer break. This timing of the work is primarily for safety reasons and also as fair weather will be needed to lay the new surfacing.

There will be a contractor on site with plant and equipment (diggers etc) so for safety reasons the area will be enclosed with temporary fencing.

This is the first stage of a long-term project to rejuvenate the Play Area. The overall project costs are significant and we will have to do it in phases as and when we can afford it. This first phase is being paid for by the Parish Council’s Community Benefit Fund (money we receive annually from the existing solar farm).

Updates will be posted here and on the Alpington with Yelverton Parish Projects Facebook page
